di Rosa Artist Interview Series
The di Rosa Preserve is delighted to present its Artist Interview Series, featuring online, in-depth conversations with San Francisco Bay Area artists whose work can now be seen at the di Rosa Preserve.
The series aims to offer visitors a look into the creative process, influences and challenges of individual artists, as well as their notions about art and life. Each interview is highlighted with video and audio excerpts.
The artist conversations are facilitated by award-winning journalist and di Rosa volunteer Leslie Goldberg, with photographs and video production by Neumu.net co-founder Michael Goldberg, web design and online production by Jeanie Craig and video editing and post-production by Chia Wen Hsieh.
William T. Wiley
There is something about artist William T. Wiley that other artists find inspiring. His friend and fellow artist Robert Hudson says, "He's my Zen master."
The di Rosa Art and Nature Preserve owns 96 solo works by this artist, who has been called one of the founding fathers of Bay Area funk style. He has also been called -- - by San Francisco Chronicle critic Kenneth Baker -- "one of America's most accomplished living artists."
Some other museums where Wiley's art has also been shown include the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Corcoran in Washington, D.C., the Whitney and the Oakland Museum.
We went to talk with Wiley at his studio/house in hippiesque Woodacre, California. (more »).
